The desk chair cushion is too firm.
The buzz from the fridge is loud,
the computer is louder.
When the dog bumps my chair,
it feels like a shove.
When someone shouts,
they’re screaming inside my head.
All of life’s padding is gone.
The inner critic is unleashed,
undermining all the little smiles
that get me through my day.

What will you do with those pieces?

I stacked them up as a wall where a set of lips on one of the bricks acts as a fountain.

Do visitors get to enjoy your art, or is the fountain strictly for you?

It’s something I put together on my patio, nothing permanent. It’s a wall of vignettes. I just got tired of moving the bricks around the yard when they were in the way.
